Dear Stakeholders,
I am happy to report that 663 awards were earned by your horses in award period one (January – February). On Tuesday, March 1, 2016 we mailed out checks totaling $1,352,853 in breeder, owner and stallion owner awards. These checks represent 90% of the total awards earned, as it is Fund policy to withhold ten percent to ensure that there is sufficient money to pay our awards throughout the year.

These awards are all based on races conducted by the NYRA at Aqueduct Racetrack. It’s interesting to note that there was one more race day in January and February of 2016 than in the same period in 2015. However, there were 28 more races run this year than last year, which contributes to the across-the-board increases in all categories of awards this year.
