The Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Sale of New York-Bred Preferred Yearlings will take place at the Fasig-Tipton Sales pavilion in Saratoga Springs, New York on August 7-8. There are 172 yearlings catalogued for the sale (89 colts and 83 fillies). Hip numbers 301-388 will go through the ring in the first session, 389-475 in the second. Both sessions begin at 7:00 PM.

The sire represented by most yearlings in the sale with nine (five colts and four fillies) is New York-based Utopia, who stands at McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds. His first foals are yearlings this year. Stonesider, who stands at Highcliff Farm and whose first foals likewise are 2010 yearlings, is also well-represented in the catalogue with four.
Other currently registered New York stallions with yearlings catalogued for the sale are: Hook and Ladder (Sequel Stallions) and Midas Eyes (Empire Stud), who each have three yearlings in the sale; current number three New York sire Repent (Empire Stud) and Read the Footnotes (Sequel Stallions) with two each; Andromeda’s Hero (Dutchess Views Farm), Freud, leading New York sire in 2008 and 2009 and currently second in the rankings (Sequel Stallions), Friendly Island (Sugar Maple Farm), Greeley’s Galaxy (Sugar Maple Farm), current leading New York sire Posse (Empire Stud), and Silver Wagon (Empire Stud, first foals yearlings this year), who each have one.
