seven in today's wide-open allowance test by a length and one-quarter. Trained
by Ralph D'Alessandro, Shesasoprano was coming off a wire-to-wire score against
state-breds which had never won a race other than at one mile and seventy yards
by three and one-quarter lengths. Ridden by Pedro Rodriguez, today's score gave

three and one-quarter lengths to Donnas Trail in most recent on June 7. That
test was around two and with same conditions as today's race. In the that losing
effort Wateree was slow to load in the gate. The Ferraro trainee had the same
problem today. Susan Feather-Gannon's Faith Keeper broke well and went out and
got the opening quarter in 24.19 and a half length lead over Shesasoprano. Shesasoprano
collared Faith Keeper and stopped the timer for the half mile in 48.34. Wateree

Lone Pine Stable's BEEBE'S FAMOOSE took the lead into the straight and
proved best by two and three-quarter lengths. Trained by Michael S. Ferraro,
this was Beebe's Famoose first start of the year and third overall. Ridden today
by Chin Yang, Beebe's Famoose only started twice last year and never did better
than a fourth place finish in his debut. Both starts were in the month August
and over off tracks. In his second start on August 31 at six furlongs, the Ferraro
trainee was sent off at $6.40 to 1 in a field and seven and finished last. But
the first time winner bobbled at the start and was forced to check in that test.
Nine rivals were set to go six furlongs and all were shooting for the $10,320
winners share. Nine rivals went to post including two trained entry's. Trainer
Bruce D. Anderson saddled Walter Shook's Sir Knight Shot and his own World Diplomat.

T. Wright, Goldenberg's Gift has tons of speed and was coming off a solid runner-up
finish to Michael's Temper on June 10 at six furlongs. That test was for three

test was restricted to three year olds and upward which had never won a state-bred
race other than and was contested at five and one-half furlongs. Seven rivals

way speed was holding up today, Goldenberg's Gift was clearly the one to catch.
Brassy Karakorum trained by Chris Englehart was taking some action and was let
go as the second choice at $2.20 to 1. The Englehart trained runner had been
away since November of last year but has the credentials to be a solid factor
today. Goldenberg's Gift with Daniel Centeno astride quickly put two lengths
on Singe Edge and Brassy Karakorum while getting the first quarter in 22.23.
Goldenberg's Gift continued wide on with a comfortable lead and stopped the
timer for the half mile in 45.29 with same rivals in pursuit two lengths back.
Goldenberg's Gift reached the eighth pole with a length and one-half advantage
over Single Edge. Brassy Karakorum dropped back some and was two and one-half

Star Track Farm's CARIBBEAN CRUISER made amends today by capturing the
$50,000 Ontario County Stakes with authority. With the addition of lasix for
today's stakes, Caribbean Cruiser was coming off a disappointing race in his
first start of the year on June 5. The race was at five and one-half furlongs

as a juvenile last year. The three year old son of Silver Ghost, broke his maiden

the backstretch but Arnie Chusid's Pinky Freud was making a solid move on the
turn. Caribbean Cruiser stopped the timer for the half in 45.49 with Pinky Freud
to the outside and Seeyoubychance between them. Seeyoubychance had enough and
began to drop back. Caribbean Cruiser and Pinky Freud matched strides to the

six lengths to make-up. Caribbean Cruiser responded readily to urging and put
Pinky Freud away and drove clear to score by two and one-half lengths. Pinky

strip, the five year old daughter of Dixie Brass tracked Faith Keeper into the
lane, collared her in gear and then drew off under pressure for a five and one-quarter
length score. The Englehart trainee came right back on May 30 against never
won four allowance foes at five and one-half furlongs and again drew off through
the lane to score by just under six lengths. Six rivals went to the starting
gate with Hello Karakorum the odds on choice at 1 to 4. Kevin Bowman's Burning
Fluid took some money and went off as the second choice at $6.70 to 1. Ridden
today by Michael Davila, Burning Fluid was coming off a convincing five and
three-quarter length tally against NW1 state-bred race other than. Prior to
that race, Burning Fluid rallied to miss by nose to Senorita American. Faith
Keeper with John Grabowski up, went out and set the opening quarter while pressed
by Hello Karakorum in 22.54. In the meantime, Burning Fluid was in hand about
four lengths back in fourth. Hello Karakorum put Faith Keeper away on the turn
and reached the quarter pole with a length lead in 45.84. Burning Fluid was
sent between foes nearing the quarter pole and was on the chase. Hello Karakorum
responded to the whip from Davila and opened up three lengths on Burning Fluid
with a furlong to go. There was a gap of three more to Bold Jubilation and Faith
Keeper. Hello Karakorum was kept to pressure and went on to score by four and
three-quarter lengths. Burning Fluid finished clearly second best by almost
five lengths over Faith Keeper in third. Hello Karakorum got the six furlong
test in 1:10.46 and earned $12,060. Bred by Michael Watral, the five year old

Denise Cotrone's owned and trained MICHAEL'S TEMPER collared the leader
nearing the sixteenth pole and drove clear to score by a two lengths in today's
19,600 allowance test. Ridden by Daniel Centeno, Michael's Temper arrived here
from River Downs in the spring and got the money in his first start on April

and one-half furlongs, the Cotrone trainee set the pace while pressed early,
took charge in midstretch with a length and one-half cushion and then turned
back Blast Off for a half length decision. In Michael's Temper next race here
against state-breds which had never a race other than at five furlongs, displayed
his usual speed to the eighth pole before getting a little tired and wound finishing
third beaten just over two lengths to the fast closing C W It's a Breeze. In
his next race against similar but a half a furlong farther, the six year old
gelded son of Mughtanim contested the lead to the top of the lane and then faded
some to finish fourth. Today's race was for three years old and upward which
had never won a state-bred race other than going six furlongs. Joseph Gentile's
Goldenberg's Gift who was coming off a six and one-quarter length romp against
$10,000 claimers which had never won four races was the $1.80 to 1 choice. Also
taking some money at the windows was Carmine and Guerrera's Ioskeha at $2.90
to 1. Trained by Michael S. Ferraro, Ioskeha had been away since November of
last year but has two bullet workouts to his credit. Goldenberg's Gift with
Jorge Bracho astride, quickly took command and opened up five lengths while
getting the first quarter in a sizzling 21.84. Tracking in second was Michael's
Temper. Goldenberg's Gift reached the quarter pole in 44.80 and extended his
lead to seven lengths over Michael's Temper and H. M. S. Majestic who was beginning
to make a move. Ioskeha was far back and had almost fifteen lengths to make-up.
Goldenberg's Gift's lead was dismissing in the lane and Michael's Temper and
H. M. S. Majestic only had three lengths to cover with a furlong remaining.
Michael's Temper was up to the challenge and collared the pacesetter nearing
the sixteenth pole and under Centeno's whip drove clear to win by two lengths.
Goldenberg's Gift finished second, a length better than H.M. S. Majestic in
third. H. M. S. Majestic had a chance but hung in the crucial stages. Michael's

Round the Horn wires 8 in open $14,900 test
Richard Frankel and Charlton Baker's ROUND THE HORN made every pole a
winning one in today's $15,200 open allowance test at one mile and seventy yards.
Trained by co-owner Charlton Baker and ridden to victory by Omar Camejo, Round
the Horn drew off while under the whip for a lengthy ten and one-quarter length
romp. All though Round the Horn now has two tallies under her belt, her maiden
score was via disqualification on April 23. That race was over a sloppy track
and contested at four and one-half furlongs. Parker Buckley was astride Round
the Horn and they were bothered by the winner at the top of the lane and was
forced to check. States Victory went on to win by a one length and one-quarter
but was taken down for interference and placed behind Round the Horn. Prior
to her maiden tally, Round the Horn had been racing at Aqueduct and Belmont
Park. The Baker trainee ran her best race over the turf at Belmont Park on September
15 going one mile and one-sixteenth. The 4 year old daughter off Cape Town was
well placed throughout that test and finished clearly second best to Kevin's
Decision. Eight rivals were entered including two trained entry's of Donna Bireta
and Charlton Baker. Fiddlers Lass and El Pardo's Gal for Bireta and Pt. Pleasant
and Round the Horn for Baker. The race was for wide-open fillies and mares which
had never won two races. Round the Horn and Pt. Pleasant were sent off as the
3 to 2 favorite. Round the Horn broke quickest of all and got the opening quarter
in 23.49 and a length lead over Fiddlers Lass. Round the Horn maintained the
advantage while setting moderate fractions of 48.76 for the half and stopped
the timer for the three-quarters in 1:13.26. Fiddler's Lass was still chasing
when Round the Horn entered the straight but Tiger Lace with Elaine Castillo
aboard was making up ground along the fence. Omar Camejo went to the whip on
Round the Horn and by the time they reached the eighth pole, there was a gap
of ten lengths back to Fiddlers Lass and Tiger Lace. Round the Horn went on
to win by just over ten lengths with Tiger Lace finishing nine and three-quarter

Line Memory wins 3 straight in open event
Yvonne Turchiarelli's LINE MEMORY made it three straight wins by taking
today's wide-open never won three allowance test. Ridden to victory by Jeremias
Flores, Line Memory was coming off a solid three length tally against never
won two rivals around two turns. Prior to that convincing score, the Jared Schoeneman
trained runner came from off the pace to break her maiden by three-quarters
of length at six furlongs on May 13. In Line Memory's first start of the year
on April 22 with maiden allowance foes going four and one-half furlongs, the
3 year old daughter of Verbatim Run finished with good energy to nail down the
place but was beaten just over two lengths to David's Beauty. Line Memory only
started once as a juvenile. That was back on November 13 where she never fired
and finished sixth out ten starters. Today's race at one mile and seventy yards,
was for fillies and mares which had never won three races and carrying a purse
of $15,200. Six well matched rivals went to post with Magic Meadows Stable's
Kim Possible the 8 to 5 favorite. Line Memory listed as the 8 to 5 morning line
choice, was let go at surprising $2.40 to 1. Kim Possible trained by Michael
S. Ferraro had been away since running for a claming price of $16,000 at Aqueduct
on December 19. Kim Possible finished seventh beaten over nine length in that
six furlong test over the inner dirt. Kim Possible was sent to front by Joe
Badamo and got the first quarter in 23.40 and a length lead over Just Gabi.
Badamo continued on with that one length advantage and got the half mile in
46.95. Just Gabi was angled to the outside and collared Kim Possible leaving
the backstretch. They dueled on the final turn and stopped the timer for the
three-quarters in 1:12.41. Line Memory had been tracking and was only two lengths
back turning for home. Sunnytown was making up some ground and only had six
lengths to make-up. Line Memory collared Kim Possible and Just Gabi in midstretch
with Sunnytown making a run along the fence. Flores got Line Memory to respond
and they edged clear for a length and one-quarter decision over Sunnytown. Kim
Possible lasted for the show. Sissay never really fired but managed to run fourth.

$17,200 maiden allowance test for state-breds going six furlongs. Trained by
Michael S. Ferraro, Pinky Freud was never threatened in a seven and three-quarter
length romp. Pinky Freud was coming off a pair of impressive runner-up finishes
at Tampa Bay Downs. The Ferraro trainee, made his first career start at Tampa
Bay downs in a maiden allowance race going six furlongs on March 19. In that
test, Pinky Freud was forwardly placed early and then moved to challenge for
the lead in midstretch but could not go on by and was beaten only a half length
to Alphabet City. In his next effort going seven furlongs on April 16, Pinky
Freud set the pace while pressed throughout and then could not match strides
late and finished second beaten by two lengths to Minaka with a gap seven back
to the third place finisher. Eight rivals went to post and all were shooting
for the $$10,320 winner's share. Pinky Freud was the odds on favorite at 1 to
5 with Blue Streak Stable's Alyfriend next at $7.70 to 1. Trained by Edward
J. Babcock, Alyfriend had only raced twice and made his debut here on May 2
going six furlongs where he finished second to Lord Buck by almost two lengths.
Alyfriend made his first career start at Philly Park on May 10 where he showed
some early speed and tired. Pinky Freud broke on top and quickly opened up a
two length lead while getting the first quarter in a very quick 22.25. Pinky
Freud took command on the turn and reached the quarter with a nine length advantage
over Alyfriend in 45.13. Running in third, about a length and one-half behind

The Queen's Doc wire's seven in $20,400 allowance test
New Venture Stable's THE QUEEN'S DOC made every pole a winning one to
capture today's $20,400 allowance test by three lengths. Trained by Michael
A. Lecesse, The Queen's Doc was coming off a disappointing fifth place finish
in his most recent going six furlongs on May 20. That test was against state-bred
rivals which had never won two races other than. Prior to that race, The Queen's
Doc wired a field of NW1 state-breds by five and one-half lengths around two
turns. Today's race was again going one mile and seventy yards for state-breds
which had never won two races other than. Seven foes went to post with James
S. Acquilano's owned and trained Leafoutofyourbook looking for his second straight
win was the $1.35 to 1 favorite. The Queen's Doc was let go at a nice $4.50
to 1. Also taking action was Kevin Bowman's Really a Prince at $3.40 to 1. Trained
by Lavern A. Bowman, Really a Prince was coming off a solid one and one-half
length tally against NW1 state-breds at one mile and seventy yards. The Queen's
Doc with Pedro Rodriguez astride broke from the one post and the duo put Eros
away early to take the opening quarter in 23.08 and a length lead. The Queen's
Doc continued on setting the fractions. Went the half mile in 47.03 and then
opened up daylight on the final turn while reaching the quarter pole in 1:12.04
and a commanding three length advantage. But Leafoutofyourbook with Michael
Davila in the irons, was making a solid bid on the final bend. Leafoutofyourbook
entered the lane in gear and was only a length behind The Queen's Doc with a
furlong remaining. It appeared Leafoutofyourbook was going to run right on by,
but the Acquilano trainee hung in the crucial stages. Gebb's Prince moved to
within striking distance at the top of the lane but lacked the late needed response
and finished a length behind Leafoutofyourbook in third. The Doc's Queen responded
when Leafoutofyourbook got a bit closer and went on to score by three lengths.
Really a Prince made a little move into the lane but flattened out and finished
fourth. The Doc's Queen got the one mile and seventy yard test in 1:42.95 over
a fast track and earned $12,240. That was The Queen's Doc sixth career win and

Tim Murphy and David E. Brown's RUBY'S ROCKET withstood a late charge
from Buck Mountain to win today's $50,000 Susan B. Anthony Handicap at 30 to
1 by a half length. This was only Ruby's Rocket second start of the year. In

her gutsy score today. Eight fillies and mares went to post going six furlongs
with Jane M. Freed's So Sweet a Cat the favorite at $1.45 to 1. So Sweet a Cat
was making her first start of the year. Last year, the Ralph D'Alessandro trainee
won two stakes in a row. She won the $250,000 New York Stallion Stakes at Saratoga
on August 5 and then came back here with eight length romp in the $75,000 New
York Oaks. Both wins were around two turns. Storm On the Lake rushed out and
got the opening quarter in 22.92 with a length lead. Ruby's Rocket was close
up and racing along the three path. Storm On the Lake reached the quarter pole
in 46.04 with Ruby's Rocket only a half length back. So Sweet a Cat was only
about two lengths back and running fifth while five wide between rivals. Ruby's
Rocket put away Storm On the Lake nearing the three-sixteenth pole. Buck Mountain

Charlton Baker's owned and trained TOP SHOTER captured today's $50,000
George W. Barker Handicap for the second straight year. Ridden to victory by
Pedro Rodriquez, Top Shoter drew off in hand to win easily by seven and one-half
lengths. This was only Top Shoter's second start on the year. His first start
was on May 7 at Mountaineer Park in the $75,000 Panhandle Handicap. In that
test at five furlongs, Top Shoter could not make the lead and wound up finishing
third beaten nine lengths to Bernie Blue. Six rivals went to post going six
furlongs with Top Shoter the odds on choice at 1 to 4 and deservedly so. Vincent
Papandrea's Little Math Man who ran in the 2004 Preakness against Smarty Jones
took some money and was dismissed at $6.10 to 1. Top Shoter broke quickly and
reached the half mile pole in 22.49 and a two length lead. Top Shoter was nursed
along on the front-end and got the half mile in 45.36 and maintained that two
length advantage over One N Three along the four path and Gotham Limited to
the inside of the latter. Rodriquez never asked Top Shoter and they still widened
and held a better than five length lead with only a furlong remaining. Top Shoter
was never ever threatened and went on to post a seven and one-half length romp.
Robert G. Kleimasewski's Gotham Limited bested One N Three by just less than
a length to earn the place. Top Shoter covered the six furlong test in a quick
1:09.49 over a fast track and under partly sunny skies. Top Shoter earned $30,000
for that convincing score. Bred by Michael Anchel, the six year old gelded son

Kevin Bowman's BURNING FLUID who was coming off a couple of runner-up
finishes and despite stumbling at the start, romped home by five and three-quarter
lengths to take today's $19,600 featured eighth race. Trained by Lavern A. Bowman
and ridden to victory by Joe Badamo, that was Burning Fluid's fifth career win.
Today's race was for fillies and mares which had never won a state-bred race

Pedro Rodriquez in the saddle, quickly established command and got the first
quarter in 22.27 with Donnas Destiny and Tony's Girl in pursuit a length and
one-half back. Burning Fluid stumbled at the start and was not in any hurry
while having about five lengths to make-up. Money Trust stopped the timer for
the half mile in 46.16 with Donnas Destiny within a half length of taking the
lead. Burning Fluid began to gain ground while along the five path on the turn.
Money Trust put Donnas Destiny away but Burning Fluid quickly took charge and
opened up a pair at the eighth pole. In the mean time, Gumpster Stable's Regal
Miracle was angled to the outside and was gaining ground but had plenty to make-up.

Belmont Park to take today's $20,600 featured eighth race by two and one-half
lengths. Rudlein Stable's Will's Journey also shipped in from the Big Apple
but the H. James Bond trained runner had been away since October of last year.
Will's Journey was sent off as the odds on choice at 3 to 5 with Affair in the
Air at $2.40 to 1. Ridden to victory today by Julio Pezua, the Joseph Imperio
trainee was coming off a third place finish at Belmont Park on May 18. That

race today was for three year olds and upward which had never won three state-bred
races other than going six furlongs. Will's Journey was coming out of two state-bred
stakes races where he ran seventh in the $250,000 Empire Classic Handicap and
finished fourth in the $65,000 John Morrisey. Prior to that, the Bond trainee
rattled off a pair of wins against state-bred allowance foes and deserved the
favorite's roll today. Seven rivals went to post and all were shooting for the
$12,360 winner's share. Flying Zee Stable's Waterundrthebridge quickly put two
lengths on the field while getting the first quarter in a rapid 22.14. Affair
in the Air and Will's Journey were both stalking the pacesetter. Waterundrthebridge
was collared midway the turn by Affair in the Air with Will's Journey being
asked along the four path. Affair in the Air reached the quarter pole with a
half length lead in 45.87. Will's Journey looked like he was going to win for
fun but Affair in the Air opened up a quick length with a furlong remaining.
Affair in the Air responded when roused by Pezua and then in a hand ride they
drew off to score by two and one-half lengths. Will's Journey could not sustain
the bid and had to settle for second best. Pleasant Trick who stumbled at the
start, finished with interest to earn a share. Affair in the Air covered the

Shesasoprano wires 7 in $19,900 feature
La Marca Stable's SHESASOPRANO wired a field of seven state-bred rivals
to take today's $19,900 featured eighth race by just over three lengths. Coupled
in the wagering with Gumpster Stable's Missionary Lady, Shesasoprano returned
$6.80. Trained by Ralph D'Alessandro, Shesasoprano last raced on May 16 against
conditioned allowance rivals going one mile and seventy yards where she lead
to the late stages and faded to finish third beaten a length and one-half. Prior
to that effort, the 5 year old daughter of Dixie Brass, raced with never won
three allowance rivals at five furlongs where she showed some early foot by

had never won a state-bred race other than. Seven rivals went to post with Mark
Valentine's Silent Annie the $2.15 to 1 favorite. Trained by Sal Iorio Jr, Silent

a slight lead and then could not handle the late charge of King's Lassie to
miss by a half length.Shesasoprano with Omar Camejo in the saddle, broke well
and went out to set the fractions while getting the opening quarter in 23.44.
She held a length lead over Hurricane Erica. Shesasoprano continued on with
an easy lead and got the half mile in 47.95. Arthur H. Heberle's Real Assets
was making up some ground along the rail and was only two and one-half lengths

Assets along the four path. Shesasoprano stopped the timer for three-quarters
in 1:13.44 with a two length lead over Real Assets with Crafty Nat making up
ground while just off the inner barrier. Shesasoprano looked like she might
be in for a battle with Real Assets who was only a length and one-half back

handed pressure and they went on to score by three and one-quarter lengths.
Real Assets finished clearly second best. Crafty Nat hung in the late stages

Coco broke well and went out to set the pace while getting the opening quarter
in 23.58. Ave's Princessa was in hand while stalking in second a length back.
The half mile went in 47.83 with Ave's Princessa within a half length of the
lead. Soon Soon was not in any hurry while racing off the only two lengths back.
Ave's Princess took the lead from Precious Coco leaving the five-sixteenth pole
but was soon collared by Dor Sal Stable's Katies Danza. They got the three-quarters
in 1:13.45. Meanwhile, Soon Soon was angled out to the three path and began
to gain ground from between foes and had three lengths to make-up. Ave's Princessa
shook loose from Katies Danza and opened up a quick two and one-half length
lead and looked home free. But Soon Soon responded when asked and under steady
pressure from Manickram, the duo closed determinedly to nail Ave's Princessa
on the wire for a head decision. Arthur H. Heberle's owned and trained Ifeelmisty
was making a run out in the center of the track but hung in the late stages
to finish third beaten almost three-lengths. Soon Soon covered the distance
over a fast track in 1:45.28 and earned $12,240. Bred by Gus Schoenborn Jr.,

Bruno Schickedanz' SINNERS ACCEPTED made it five straight when she drew
off under steady pressure to prove clearly best by four and one-half lengths
in today's $20,100 opener. Trained by Samuel Keyrouze, Sinners Accepted shipped
in here from Penn National and got the job done by three and one-half lengths
on April 25. That event was for the fillies and mares which had never won a
state-bred race other than at four and one-half furlongs. Sinners Accepted with

at $2.10 to 1. Ridden today by Joe Badamo, Fair Prospect had been out three
times this year and wired a field by six on April 6 going four and one-furlongs
over a muddy track. In her other two starts, the Michael Lecesse trainee ran
second to the good now Ava Marisa twice. Fair Prospect broke quickest off all
and went out to put a length and one-half on Sinners Accepted. Heaven's Thunder,
the third choice in the wagering at $3.10 to 1 was running third about five
lengths from the front. Sinners Accepted collared Fair Prospect to the outside
at the top of the stretch with the latter stopping the timer for the half mile
in 46.37. Thomas Brockley's Senorita American was making a move on the turn
and had four and one-half lengths to make-up. Sinners Accepted and Fair Prospect

King's Lassie wins $19,900 State-Bred Allowance
Dresden Farm's KING'S LASSIE rallied through the stretch to best Silent
Annie by half length in today's $19,900 featured eighth race. Trained by John
Progno, King's Lassie made her first start over this oval this year on April
6 where she finished third. That race was at one mile and seventy yards for
state breds that had never won a race other than. Prior to that test, King's
Lassie had been racing at Mountaineer Park. The Progno trainee ran twice this
past winter at the $5,000 level without much success. Last year King's Lassie
started here ten times and scored twice for a tag of $4,000. Today's race going
one mile and seventy yards and the same conditions, King's Lassie was let go
at a nice $5.40 to 1. The Ralph D'Alessandro's trained entry of Jelly Roll Journey
and Shesasoprano were sent off as the odds on choice at 4 to 5. It appeared
on paper that Shesasoprano had the speed and Jelly Roll Journey was the closer.
Shesasoprano was sent to the front and got the first quarter in 23.86 and a
length cushion. Shesasoprano opened up a length and one-half and stopped the
timer for the half mile in 47.94. Jelly Roll Journey was about ten lengths back
and King's Lassie along the five path four lengths back. The pacesetter continued
on setting the fractions and got the three-quarters in 1:13.14. Silent Annie
was chasing along the three path with King's Lassie gaining ground while five
wide. Shesasoprano held a length lead in midstretch but was soon to collared
by Silent Annie and King's Lassie. The three hooked up quickly with Shesasoprano
getting a little tired. Silent Annie gained a slim lead with King's Lassie to
the outside. The duo battled to the line and under strong handling by Elaine
Castillo, King's Lassie bested Silent Annie for a half length decision. Shesasoprano
held on for the show spot. Jelly Roll Journey never fired and finished sixth.

Illegal wires 6 in $20,600 allowance race
Mark T. Jordan's ILLEGAL turned back 3 to 5 favorite Stonewood in today's
$20,600 featured eighth race by a neck. Trained by Chris Englehart, this was
Illegal's second straight score. Gumpster Stable's Stonewood shipped in from
Aqueduct where he was coming off a state bred allowance tally going six panels
on April 16 looked like a cinch on paper. The Scott Lake trainee has one win
on the year and three runner-up finishes out of only four starts. The contest
today was for three year olds and upward which had never won three state bred
other than going five and one-half furlongs. Six rivals went to post including
a Michael A. Lecesse trained entry of Pleasant Trick and Mysweethearts Gone
and were shooting for the $12,360 winner's share.Illegal sent off as the second
choice in the wagering at $3.15 to 1, broke sharply and reached the opening
quarter in a sizzling 21.92 and a length lead over Stonewood. Davila nudged
Illegal along and they reached the quarter pole in 44.63 and put two and one-half
lengths on stalker Stonewood who was along the five path. There was a gap of
five lengths back to Waterundrthebridge in third. Illegal's two and one-half
length lead was shrinking some when he got to the eighth pole. Stonewood only
had a length and one-half to make-up and appeared to be up for the challenge.
Illegal has a history of getting little tired in the final yards but not today.
Davila got Illegal to respond to left handed pressure and the duo narrowly outran
Stonewood by neck at the line. Agnes Perdue's Passing Ships finished eight lengths
back in third. Lecesse's trained pair never fired. Pleasant Trick ran fourth
and Mysweethearts Gone trailed throughout. Illegal covered the five and one-half
furlongs in a very quick 1:03.92 over a fast track and under sunny skies. Illegal
picked up a cool $12,360 for his score and now has six career wins and earnings
just shy of $95,000. Out of nine races on today's card, five winners were in
wire-to-wire fashion with the other four near the pace. Bred by Juliana Garofalo,

Star of Rome upsets in $19,600 allowance race
Michael I. Progno's STAR OF ROME proved best by almost a length in today's
$19,600 state bred allowance test at six furlongs. Shipping in from Mountaineer
Park and running with conditioned $5,000 claimers, the Progno trained runner
was dismissed at $10.70 to 1. Star of Rome was coming off a solid third place
finish his most recent while only missing the win by a half length going five
and one-half furlongs over a muddy strip. That gutsy performance was on April
3. Prior to that race, Star of Rome finished second beaten by five lengths at
the same distance over an off track. Star of Rome raced four times since November
of last year at the West Virginia oval and finished second once and third twice.
All races were at the $5,000 level which had never won four races. Today's race
was for three year olds and upward which had never won a state bred race other
than and was decided at five and one-half furlongs. Eight rivals went to post
with Dubb and Selinger's Anamericanbid was sent off at 8 to 5. Trained by M.
Anthony Ferraro, Anamericanbid was coming a pair of rallying runner-up finishes
against the same as he faced today. Also taking some money was Baker and Oliver's
Abagintwo. The Carl Baker trainee scored in his first outing on the year against
$4,000 starter allowance rivals on April 29 where he got the job done by a neck
over Sweet Time. Denise Cotrone's Michael's Temper was sent to the front and
opened up a length while getting the opening quarter in 23.45. Chasing in second
was Star of Rome along the three path and Abagintwo was to outside in the third
spot. Star of Rome and Abagintwo surrounded Michael's Temper nearing the quarter
pole with the trio stopping the timer for the half mile in 46.88. Two lengths
back in fourth along the fence was the favorite Anamericanbid. Star of Rome
and Abagintwo reached the eighth pole together with Michael's Temper dropping
back. Leafoutofyourbook was less then three lengths back and appeared to be
in gear. Star of Rome responded readily to the whip from Jesus Suarez and then
outran Abagintwo to the line by three-quarters of a length. Leafoutofyourbook
lacked room leaving the eighth pole and had to alter course to the inside. The
James Acquilano trainee finished strongly along the fence to earn the show spot
while only missing his win picture by little less than a length. Anamericanbid
never fired and finished fifth. Star of Rome got the distance over a fast track
in 1:05.53 and paid $23.40. The Progno owned and trained gelded son of Risen

leaving the backstretch and was only three and one-half lengths back. Donnas
Destiny got the half mile in 46.43 by head over Senorita American. Burning Fluid
was angled in on the turn and now was only two and one-half lengths behind.
Donnas Destiny and Senorita American entered the stretch together and matched
strides to the eighth pole. Senorita American edged clear some from Donnas Destiny

like a winner, but the latter responded to steady pressure from Davila and held

Majestic Miesque proves best in $20,100 feature
One Pond Stable's MAJESTIC MIESQUE with Daniel Morales in the saddle
battled through the stretch to prove best by a head over Midnight Secret in
today's $20,100 featured eighth race. Trained by Chris Englehart, Majestic Miesque
had been away since November of last year. In his last race of the year, the
Englehart trainee pressed the pace in the six furlong test and then faded in
the late stages to finish fifth. That effort was against allowance state breds
which had never won three races other than. Majestic Miesque raced here five
times last year and scored twice. Both wins were against wide-open conditioned
allowance rivals at six furlongs. Prior to coming to Finger Lakes, Majestic

coming off two runner-up finishes was the $2.00 to 1 favorite. Betty Jean Murphy's
Emmet Square scored in his first outing on the year with a length decision against
allowance state-breds at four and one-half furlongs over a sloppy track. Emmet
Square was the second choice at $2.65 to 1. Emmet Square and Wee David quickly
established the lead and got the first quarter in 23.02 with a length cushion
over Majestic Miesque and Midnight Secret. The early leaders maintained a slight
advantage nearing the quarter pole while getting the half mile in 46.88. Doc's
Option found an opening and moved between rivals in upper stretch. Majestic
Miesque was between foes along three path and making his move. Midnight Secret
moved to challenge while four across the track in upper stretch. All four reached
the eighth pole together with Majestic Miesque putting a head in front. Majestic

and forty yards. The entry was sent off as the second choice at $1.20 to 1.
Piazza Stable's Genevil who finished fourth in her first try over this oval
on April 22 going four and one-half furlongs was the slight favorite at $1.15

at Aqueduct last winter where she scored twice in six starts. Both victories
were against conditioned allowance state breds and around two turns. Precious

finish here on April 29, she had been running with conditioned wide-open allowance
foes most of the winter where she finished second three times beaten a total

Sunnyridge Sam upsets at 8 to 1 in $20,600 allowance feature
Douglass Nunn's owned and trained SUNNYRIDGE SAM responded to steady
pressure from Daniel Centeno to prove best by almost two lengths in today's
$20,600 featured state bred event returning $18.60. Sunnyridge Sam was claimed
for $10,000 by his current connections at Aqueduct on March 6 where he showed
good early speed in the six furlong test but faded in the lane to finish fifth.
The Doug Nunn trainee had a race over this oval on April 23 against never won
three state bred races going four and one-half furlongs over a sloppy track.
Sunnyridge Sam sent off at $2.90 to 1 in that race was well placed throughout
but lacked the late needed response and finished a respectable fourth beaten
two and one-half lengths to the highly regarded Shuffle Board. Today's contest
was at five furlongs and with the same conditions as Sunnyridge Sam's last race
here. Eight rivals went to post with Agnes Perdue's Passing Ships, who finished
second to Shuffle Board in his most recent, went off as the $2.05 to 1 favorite.
That was Passing Ships first start of the year and only missed by one and three-quarter
lengths. Last year Passing Ships had two wins, two seconds and five thirds out
of only 12 starts. Also taking some money in the wagering at $4.10 to 1 was
Schouten and Robinson's Pleasant Trick. Pleasant Trick rallied to score here
in his first start of the year at four and one-half furlongs at $5.40 to 1.
Elaine Castillo was along for the ride and has the mount again today. Flying
Zee Stable's Waterundrthebridge and Sunnyridge Sam broke together and went out
to set the pace while getting the first quarter in 22.69. They held a length
lead over Pleasant Trick along three path and Passing Ships to the outside of
the latter. The pacesetters matched strides to the quarter pole in 46.35 and
maintained that one length cushion over Passing Ships with Pleasant Trick dropping
back some. Jockey Daniel Centeno asked Sunnyridge Sam for more and got it. The
duo put away Waterundrthebridge in upper stretch and held a length lead with
a furlong to go over Passing Ships. In the meantime, Pleasant Trick was angled
out for the drive and had about 6 lengths to make up. Sunnyridge Sam responded

foes went to post with The Queen's Doc sent off the luke warm choice at $2.10
with Albert Fried Jr's Missed the Call second in the wagering at $2.55 to 1.

in the saddle, they quickly opened up six lengths on the field while getting
the opening quarter in 24.36. Missed The Call was chasing in second and had
a length and one-half to the good over Character Actor. The Queen's Doc continued
with a lengthy lead getting the half mile in 48.74 and reached the quarter pole
in 113.56 with a three length cushion over Missed the Call and nobody making
up any ground. Rodriquez went to the whip in midstretch and was clear by four
and went on to win by five and one-half lengths over Missed the Call. Paraneck
Stable's Run to Glory was along for a share but was beaten by almost ten lengths.
The Queen's Doc covered the one mile and forty yard test over a fast track in

wide-open conditioned allowance test giving Oakwood Stable and trainer Daniel
H. Conway Jr. a double on the card. Ridden by Chin Yang, Pervasive Force bested
R Big Daddy by three-quarters of a length. Oakwood Stable, Conway and Yang got
the job done in the third race with Sweet Hours. Sweet Hours scored by a length
and one-half against maiden $15,000 claimers. Pervasive Force finished a respectable
third in his first start over this oval on April 19 against similar despite
having to check at the quarter pole. The Conway trained runner missed the win
by three-quarters of length at four and one-half furlongs. Today's race was
for three year olds and upward which had never won two races going five-eighths
of a mile. Seven rivals went to post with Paul W. Barrow's owned and trained
R Big Daddy sent off the luke warm choice at $2.30 to 1 with Pervasive Force
at $2.80 to 1. R Big Daddy was coming out of the same race as Pervasive Force
where he ran second beating the latter by a head. R Big Daddy broke on top and
went out to set the pace while pressed by Fence Cat and getting the opening
quarter in 22.51. Pervasive Force was laying fourth about three lengths back.
R Big Daddy put a length on Fence Cat nearing the quarter pole and stopped the
timer for the half in 46.73. Pervasive Force was along the five path and was
gaining ground. Yang got his mount to within a length and one-half as they turned
for home. Herbert S. Anderson's Karl's Runner was making a run along the fence
and was only a head behind Pervasive Force. R Big Daddy reached the eighth pole
with a head advantage over Pervasive Force and a length and one-half on Karl's
Runner. R Big Daddy and Pervasive Force matched strides through the final eighth
with Pervasive Force having a little more left in his tank and bested the latter
by three-quarters of a length on the line. Karl's Runner was angled out and
finished with good energy while missing the place by a half length to R Big
Daddy. Call the Lark made a late bid to hit the board and only missed the winners
share by a length and one-half. Pervasive Force covered the five furlong test
over a sloppy track in 100.21 and earned $8,760. Bred by Juliana and Francis
A. and Gregory Garofalo et al., the four year old gelded son of Artax out of

Illegal romps in $20,100 Lakes Feature
Mark T. Jordan's ILLEGAL made amends today when he destroyed a field
of six by just over six lengths in today's $20,100 featured eighth race. The
Chris Englehart trainee got the four one-half furlong distance in 51.11 which
was the fastest time of year and only two ticks off the track record (50.60).
Illegal nailed down the opening quarter in a quick 22.23 and sizzled through
the half mile in 44.91. Illegal's first start of the year was on April 19 going
the same distance but ducked out at the start and could only put two and one-half
lengths on the field after the first quarter. The speedster got to the eighth
pole with a four length lead and looked like he was on his way to the winners
circled but got caught in the final yards and finished third beaten three-quarters
of length for all of it to the fast closing Pleasant Trick. Illegal went off
at odds of 1 to 4. Today's test was for three year olds and upward which had
never won two state bred races other than and all were shooting for the $20,100
up for grabs. Six rivals went to the starting gate with Illegal the odds on
choice at 1 to 2. Arthur Huberfeld's Doc's Option bested Illegal for the place
in his last, was the second choice at $3.30 to 1. On paper it looked like it
could only be an Illegal Doc's Option exacta. Illegal with John R. Davila up,
quickly established command and sprinted clear to a four and one-half length
lead over Doc's Option. Doc's Option had a length and one-half over Wee David
in third. Illegal was never really asked and reached the eighth pole with a
nine length lead. Davila grabbed hold of his mount and was under wraps through
the final yards to score by six and one-quarter lengths. Doc's Option finished
second by almost four lengths over Christopher Progno's Frank Headley. Illegal
earned $12,060 for the win. Bred by Juliana Garofalo, the four five year gelded
son of Key Contender out of Irish Weekend by Mehment now has five wins out of
22 starts and $81,813 in money won. Illegal also qualified for $2,412 in breeders'

Fakeyouout ships in from Mountaineer Park to earn diploma
Pointe East Stable's FAKEYOUOUT shipped in from Mountaineer Park to
capture today's state-bred maiden allowance test by a length. Trained by Chris
Englehart, Fakeyouout's most recent race was on April 8 at Mountaineer Park
going against maiden allowance rivals at one mile. The daughter of Runaway Groom
ran a respectable fourth beaten almost ten lengths with the winner getting the
job done by almost three lengths. Prior to that effort, Fakeyouout ran over
the same oval and distance on February 19 where she finished second beaten four
lengths to Doctor Jane. Fakeyouout was ridden to victory today by John R. Davila
and came into this race with one second and one third out of only seven starts
and earnings of $11,560. The race today carried a solid purse of $17,500 and
was contested at one mile and forty yards. Six rivals went to post with Fakeyouout
the top choice at $1.60 to 1. Herbert S. Anderson Jr's Baby Wonder was second
in the wagering at $1.70 to 1. Baby Wonder was coming off a runner-up finish
here going four and one-half furlongs to Keepswooinshoes. The Bryan Armstrong
trainee was beaten five and one-half lengths. Before that race, Baby Wonder
was running at Tampa Bay Downs where she started six times and only hit the
board once. Lovely Senorita with Michael Davila up, broke well and set the pace
while getting fractions of 24.31 for the opening quarter and the half mile 48.78.
Baby Wonder was to the outside of the pacesetter and only a length back leaving
the three-eighth pole. Fakeyouout was lagging far back and had about lengths
to make-up by the time the leaders got to the quarter pole in 1:15 flat. Baby
Wonder and Lovely Senorita entered the lane together with Baby Wonder putting
a length on the latter with a furlong to go. In the meantime, Fakeyouout was
getting it in gear along the rail. Jockey John Davila angled his mount for racing
room. Fakeyouout responded to the whip and closed determinedly to collar Baby
Wonder in the final yards and go on to win by a length. Baby Wonder finished
second with Lovely Senorita narrowly holding the show by a neck over Dreams
Are Forever. Fakeyouout got the distance in 1:48.08 over a fast track. Fakeyouout
earned $10,500 for her rallying performance. Bred by Pointe East Stable, the
four year old daughter of Runaway Groom out of Lynnen by Twilight Agenda now

Penn Shipper makes in 4 straight at the "Lakes"
Bruno Schickedanz' SINNERS ACCEPTED shipped in from Penn National to
make it four straight wins with a three and one-quarter length tally in today's
$19,600 featured seventh race. Trained by Sam J. Keyrouze and ridden by regular
jockey Jorge Tipa, Sinners Accepted rattled off three straight wins at Penn
National starting on February 19 for a claiming tag of $4,000 going six furlongs.
The daughter of Traitor wired a field of six by almost thirteen lengths. Came
right back against similar going five and one-half furlongs with a two and three-quarter
length score. On April 7 against conditioned allowance rivals, she took control
in the six furlong test entering the lane and then romped home by almost seven
lengths. The Keyrouze trainee is undefeated for the 2005 racing season. Today's
test was for fillies and mares which had never won a state bred race other than
and was decided at four and one-half furlongs. Seven rivals went to post with
Sinners Accepted sent off as the 8 to 5 choice in the wagering. Gumpster Stable's
Thecatsoutofthebag broke quickly and rushed out to put a three and one-half
length to the good over Sinners Accepted while getting the opening quarter in
a sizzling 22.91. Retrieve the Gold was laying third midway on the turn and
had about 5 lengths to make-up. Thecatsoutofthebag reached furlong marker in
the lane and held a diminishing length and one-half lead over Sinners Accepted
and three and one-half lengths over Retrieve the Gold. Sinners Accepted moved
quickly to collar the front-runner and under steady urging from jockey Jorge
Tipa the duo drew clear for a three and one-quarter length tally. Paraneck Stable's
Theonlyword came flying late to best Thecatsoutofthebag for the place by a head.
Retrieve the Gold finished fourth. Sinners Accepted covered the four and one-half
furlong test over a muddy surface in 53.13. That was Sinners Accepted sixth
win out of only ten starts and first try against state bred rivals. Bred by
Jayvee Stables, the four year old daughter of Traitor out of Voodoo Secret by
Clever Secret earned $11,760 for her score today and now has a bankroll of $40,656.

Shuffle Board wires field of 6 at the "Lakes"
Michael A. Lecesse's SHUFFLEBOARD coming off two bullet workouts wired
a field of six to take today's $20,600 featured eighth race by a length and
three-quarters. The Lecesse trainee last raced on October 28 of 2004 going six
panels over a fast track where he destroyed a field of non-winners of two state
bred races other than by almost eight lengths. That was Shuffle Boards fourth
win on the year and banked $45,466. Getting the job done on Shuffle Board today
was Pedro A. Rodriguez. Pedro also was aboard for that runaway tally last October.
The race today was for three year olds and upward which had never won three
state bred races other than going four and one-half furlongs. Six rivals went
to the starting gate with Shuffle Board dismissed as the 3 to 5 choice. Douglas
Nunn's shipper from Aqueduct was getting played and was let go as the second
choice at $2.90 to 1. Sunnyridge Sam raced three times this year with two third
place finishes. All three races were at six furlongs where he was on or near
the lead turning for home. Shuffle Board broke in stride and quickly opened
up a three length cushion while getting the first quarter in 22.30. Stalking
in second along the three path was Flying Zee Stable's Waterundrthebridge and
Sunnyridge Sam along the fence in third. Pedro Rodriguez let out a notch and
reached the eighth pole with a four and one-half length lead over Sunnyridge
Sam, Passing Ships, Waterundrthebridge and Watralsoutherncure. Pedro grabbed
hold of Shuffle Board and was under wraps through the final yards to win in
hand. The margin of victory could have been by many more. Passing Ships outran
Watralsoutherncure to the line to earn the place. Despite bobbling and checking
at the start, Watralsoutherncure ran a big race to nail down the show spot while
only missing the win by just less than two lengths. Shuffle Board covered the
distance over a sloppy track in 52.08 and earned $12,360. That was Shuffle Board's
seventh career win out of only 21 starts and now has $98,826 in money won. Bred
by Roger L. Toffolon, the 5 year old gelded son of Sea Salute out of Frivolous
Fan by Lear Fan also qualified for $2,472 in breeders' awards.

Flora Mac Flimsey came flying to score in $20,600 feature
Stephen P. Ubbink's owned and trained FLORA MAC FLIMSEY came flying to
nail Winloc's Sunshine to win today's $20,600 featured eighth race by a neck.
Ridden to victory by Jose A. Gutierrez, Flora Mac Flimsey had been away since
last November 27 where she finished a respectable third going one mile and seventy
yards. Last year the Ubbink trained runner only started seven times with three
third place finishes and earnings of $9,775. The race today was for fillies
and mares which had never won three state bred races other than going four and
one-half furlongs. Seven state bred rivals went to post and all were shooting
for the $12,360 winners share. Piazza Stable's Genevil shipped in from Aqueduct
under the care of conditioner Scott Everett was sent off as the luke warm favorite
at $2.00 to 1. Genevil's most recent tally was two starts back at Aqueduct against
conditioned allowance state breds over the inner track going one mile and one-eighth
where she held on stubbornly to win by a neck. Genevil also had a couple of
races over this oval last fall. She finished second beaten a nose in her first
start around two turns and then came back and showed some good speed to the
final turn but faded to finish sixth. Genevil was also the class of the race
with $159,678 in the bank. Douglas Nunn's owned and trained Fuzzie's First broke
sharply and opened up a quick two lengths over Jane M. Freed's Countdown and
Script R Farm's Winloc's Sunshine while stopping the timer for the opening quarter
in 22.40. Flora Mac Flimsey was last and had about eight lengths to make-up.
Fuzzie's First maintained a length lead nearing the eighth pole but she ducked
in sharply almost hitting the rail. Winloc's Sunshine took advantage of Fuzzie's
Firsts mishap and quickly overtook her and looked like a winner with a sixteenth
to go. Countdown began to fade but Flora Mac Flimsey responded to Gutierrez's
urging and they closed extremely fast to nail Winloc's Sunshine on the wire.
Heaven's Thunder was along for third despite lacking room and having to check
at the sixteenth pole. Genevil was in a striking position along the rail but
failed to fire and wound hitting the board beaten almost three lengths. Flora
Mac Flimsey covered the four and one-half furlong distance over a fast track
in 52.59 and earned $12,360. Bred by Mrs. Thomas Muller, the seven year old
daughter of Big Mukora out of Passing Cloud by Poison Ivory now has 7 career
wins out of 38 starts and sports a bankroll of $91,272. Also Mrs. Thomas Muller
earned $2,472 in breeders' awards.

Pleasant Trick upsets in $20,100 Lakes Feature
Theodus J. Schouten and Mike Robinson's PLEASANT TRICK rallied through
the stretch to score by three-quarters of length in today's $20,100 featured
eighth race. Trained by Michael A. Lecesse, this was Pleasant Trick's first
start since November of last year. Ridden by Elaine Castillo, last year Pleasant
Trick had three wins two seconds, three thirds for earning of $50,749. Six rivals
which had never won two state bred races other than went to post with Mark T.
Jordan's Illegal sent off at 2 to 5. Trained by last years leading conditioner
Chris Englehart, Illegal always shows good early speed and with today's distance
of four and one-half furlongs he looked like a cinch. Pleasant Trick was dismissed
as the third choice in the wagering at 5.40 to 1. Illegal with John R. Davila
up, ducked out some at the start and broke last. Davila got his mount in gear
and they quickly took command while getting the first quarter in 22.10 and a
two length advantage over Doc's Option. Tony Curtis was along the fence in third
with Pleasant Trick along the five path in fourth. Illegal opened up a four
length lead with a furlong to go and looked home free. Doc's Option was chasing
in second while Pleasant Trick was angled to the outside for clear sailing.
Elaine Castillo got Pleasant Trick to fire and the duo outran Doc's Option to
the line for a three-quarter length decision. Illegal finished third while missing
the place by a nose. Pleasant Trick got the four and one-half furlong test in
52.35 over a fast track and was awarded $12,060. That was Pleasant Trick's seventh
career win. Bred by Driver-Ferguson and Glencrest Farm, the five year gelded
son of Clever Trick out of Greatly Shocked by Great Neck now has career earnings

Value Taker takes $17,200 "MSW"
Tri Richard Stable's VALUE TAKER collared the pacesetter in midstretch
and then drew clear by three lengths to take today's $17,200 state-bred maiden
allowance test. Trained by Charlton Baker and ridden to victory by Michael Davila,
this was Value Taker's second try on the year and seventeenth career start.
Prior to today's tally, the Baker trainee last raced on March 7 at Mountaineer
Park in a Maiden Special Weight going five and one-half furlongs over a muddy
track where he showed good early speed but tired to finish fifth beaten just
over seven lengths. Coming in today's race, Value taker had been campaigning
mostly at Aqueduct and Belmont and in those races earned $12,025. Eight three
year olds and upward went to post going four and one-half furlongs with Henry
Jellows' Mister Budster sent off as the odds on choice at 1 to 2. He was coming
off a disappointing race at Aqueduct on January 30. Before that the Michael
Charles Aro trained runner finished a respectable third against state-breds
over the same oval going six panels. Last year Mister Budster started three
times at Suffolk Downs where he finished runner-up twice and sixth in his debut
on October 9. Value Taker was sent off as the second choice in the wagering
at $3.15 to 1. Barb's Bid broke sharply and quickly opened up a pair and a half
on the turn and stopped the timer for the first quarter in 22.60 with Value
Taker stalking in second just off the rail. Mister Budster with Pedro Rodriguez
in the saddle was three lengths back in third while sitting chilly along the
three path. Barb's Bid maintained the advantage into the lane but that lead
was quickly diminishing. Value Taker responded when roused and got to within
a half length to the outside of Barb's Bid with a furlong remaining. Meanwhile,
Mister Budster was angled to the fence for the drive and was only two lengths
out of it with an eighth of mile to go. Value Taker put Barb's Bid away and
went on to post a three length tally. Mister Budster finished well along the
rail to clearly best Barb's Bid by three lengths. Value Taker got the four and
one-half furlong test over a fast track in 52.62 and earned $10,320. Bred by
Milfer Farm Inc., the 4 year old son
of Take Me Out out of Val du Neuf by Val de l'Orne(FR) now has a bankroll of
$22,355 and qualified for $2,064 in breeders' awards.

Ava Marisa captures $19,600 feature
Emily Schoeneman's AVA MARISA wore down Fair Prospect in the final yards
to win by a length and one-half in today's $19,600 featured eighth race. Trained
by Felix Monseratte, Ava Marisa last raced at Mountaineer Park on December 7
of last year for a claiming tag of $30,000. Going five and one-half furlongs
over a muddy track, Ava Marisa showed her usual early gas and was laying third
after the first quarter in 22.1 and only a length and one-half from the pacesetter.
But Ava Marisa could not get any closer than that and faded to finish sixth
beaten eight lengths to Proud Tears. Ridden to victory today by Michael A. Davila
Jr., trainer Monseratte had her fit and ready to roll. The race today was for
fillies and mares which had never won a state bred race other than and was to
be decided at four and one-half furlongs. Nine rivals went to the starting gate
including a Donna Bireta trained entry with Louis A. Bisso Jr's Fair Prospect
sent off as the $2.15 to 1 choice in the wagering. Fair Prospect had not raced
since last July here where the Michael A. Lecesse trainee wired a field of conditioned
allowance foes going one mile and seventy yards by three lengths. That tally
was her second in a row and fourth on the year. Fair Prospect breaking from
the seven post, broke quickly with Joe Badamo in the irons and got the opening
quarter in 22.44 and a length and one-half to the good over Tony's Girl along
the fence and Ava Marisa outside on the three path. Fair Prospect maintained
the advantage to midstretch but Ava Marisa responded readily to Davila's stick
and moved to within a half length of the lead with a furlong to go. Second choice
in the wagering was Paraneck Stable's Logical Art Form who was shipping in from
Aqueduct was making a move but had about six lengths to make up with a furlong
to go. Ava Marisa and Fair Prospect matched strides to the late stages but Ava
Marisa edged clear to prove best by a length and one-half over the latter. Tony's
Girl finished third with Logical Art Form making a late run to hit the board.
Ava Marisa stopped the timer for the four and one-half furlong distance over
a fast strip in 52.18 and earned $11,760. Bred by Raymond A Roncari and Leslie
Roncari-Marconi, the six year old daughter of Big Mukora out of Julia of Winloc
by Lost Code now has five career wins and a sports a bankroll of $62,249. Also,

of live racing with Assaf Ronen's DECISIVE STRIKE capturing the $19,600
featured eighth race by three and one-half lengths. Ridden to victory by Chin
Yang, Decisive Strike has never been beaten here at Finger Lakes. The Assaf
Ronen's owned and trained runner broke his maiden here last August going six
furlongs by three and one-quarter lengths over a fast track. Decisive Strike's
most recent race was at Aqueduct going seven furlongs where he showed some early
speed but faded to finish eighth. That was his first start since January 16.
Eight three year olds and upward which had never won a state bred race other
than going four and one-half furlongs went to post today with New Valentine
Stable's The Queen's Doc sent off the $2.40 to 1 choice. Decisive Strike was
let go at $8.50 to 1. Clarke D..Whitaker's Hidden Account broke sharply and
went out to contest the lead with Decisive Strike. Hidden Account got the opening
quarter in 22.81 with a half length advantage over the latter. A length behind
the pacesetters was Samuel J. Keyrouze's I'am a Red Sox Fan along the four path
in third. Decisive Strike and Hidden Account entered the lane together while
The Queen's Doc still had about five lengths to make up. Decisive Strike responded
when roused by Yang nearing the eighth pole and put a quick length on Hidden
Account. In the meantime, The Queen's Doc was drifting in and then bumped with
Satellite Problem nearing the sixteenth pole. Hidden Account had had enough
and began to fade. Decisive Strike quickly opened up daylight and went on to
prove best in a hand ride. Decisive Strike covered the four and one-half furlongs
in 52.56 over a fast track. Anamericanbid was getting it in gear but lacked
room nearing the sixteenth pole and had to check. With John Grabowski in the
irons, Anamericanbid recovered and finished strongly to best The Queen's Doc
for the place. After a stewards inquiry, The Queen's Doc was disqualified from
third and placed last. Decisive Strike's convincing tally was worth $11,760.
Bred by Gallagher Stud, the five
year old gelded son of Miswaki out of Karla Whyller by Salse now has two scores
