Y Two J proves best in $20,600 allowance test
Richard Nicolai's Y TWO J took the lead leaving the eighth pole and drew
off to score by two and one-half lengths in today's $20,600 featured eighth.
Trained by leading conditioner Chris Englehart and ridden by Daniel Centeno,
this was Y Two J's first win over this oval. The six year old gelded son of
Dixie Brass shipped in from Mountaineer Park and ran a solid second in his first
trip over this track on September 30. Y Two J came rolling in that five and
one-half furlong test against NW3X only to come up a neck short to the highly
regarded You Willgo Broke. Y Two J came right back with similar but at six furlongs
and again ran second. Today's test was for three year olds and upward which
had never won three state-bred races other than going five and one-half furlongs.
Six foes went to post with Linda Rice's trained Precise Motion the $1.05 to
1 odds on choice. Precise Motion is shipping in from Belmont Park with a record
for the year of eight starts, two wins, four seconds and one third. The three
year old son of Precise End was coming off a runner-up finish going six and
one-half furlongs in a wide-open NW1X on October 7 as the 1 to 2 favorite. His
most recent score was on September 24 going seven furlongs, where he downed
a field of nine state-breds which had never won two races other than by almost
four lengths. La Marca Stable's Gates Avenue broke quickly and established a
length lead while getting the opening quarter in 22.26. Precise Motion was along
the fence with Abagintwo to the outside of Y Two J and heads apart. Gates Avenue
reached the quarter pole first by a head while stopping the timer for the half
mile 45.76. Y Two J and Precise Motion put a length over Abagintwo with a furlong
to go and Gates Avenue dropping out of it. Y Two J responded readily to Centeno's
urging and put Precise Motion away leaving the sixteenth pole and drew clear
to win by two and one-half lengths. Precise Motion finished second best by almost
three lengths over Abagintwo in third. Y Two J got the distance over a fast
track in 1:04.22 and earned $12,360. Bred by Joseph Sweedler, the six year gelded
son of Dixie Brass out of Anguilla Holiday by Lear Fan now has seven wins out
of 37 starts and a solid bankroll of $240,185. Y Two J also qualified for $2,472

Watral Swee Dixie captures $20,100 feature at Finger Lakes
Bruce D. Anderson's owned and trained WATRAL SWEE DIXIE collared Pixie
Dust nearing the eighth pole and then under steady pressure from Jeremias Flores
outran Burning Fluid to the wire for a neck decision. Watral Swee Dixie was
coming a disappointing seventh place finish as the favorite in her most recent
here on October 3. That race was against NW2X going six furlongs. Prior to that
event, the six year old daughter of Dixie Brass rallied to best seven others
by in neck in a NW1X going five and one-half furlongs. Including today's game
score, Watral Swee Dixie has started ten times on the year with a record of
four wins, two seconds and $41,005 in purse money. Today's test was for fillies
and mares which had never won two state-bred races other than going six furlongs.
Six rivals went to the starting gate with James and Robert Cole's Pixie Dust
the $1.05 to 1 choice in the wagering. Trained by Kenneth R. Smith, Pixie Dust
just missed by three-quarters of a length in her last to Blonde Dynamite. The
Smith trained speedster rattled off three straight prior to that defeat on October
3. Pixie Dust started that impressive win skein against $4,000 claimers which
had never won three races going five and one-half furlongs on July 15. The three
year old daughter of Tale of the Cat came right back against $4,000 never won
three going five and one-half furlongs, where she again wired a field to score
by three and one-half lengths. Pixie Dust then climbed the latter and bested
a field of six NW1X going the same distance by three-quarter of a length. Watral
Swee Dixie was let go at nice $7.90 to 1. Pixie Dust with Macelin Manickram
up, broke quickest of all and went out to get the first quarter in 23.01 with
Kevin Bowman's Burning Fluid a half length back. Pixie Dust shook loose some
from Burning Fluid and stopped the timer for the half mile in 46.41 and a length
cushion. Meanwhile, Watral Swee Dixie was in gear and about five wide on the
turn. Watral Swee Dixie collared Burning Fluid and Pixie Dust nearing the eighth
pole and put a quick length on the pair. Burning Fluid wasn't done yet and came
back on to miss by a neck. Pixie Dust lasted for the show. Watral Swee Dixie
covered the distance over a good track in 1:11.85 and earned $12,060. Bred by
Michael Watral, the three year old daughter of Dixie Brass out of Sea Trip by

Wind Jet ships in to earn diploma in $17,200 "MSW"
Peter V. Rosbeck's WIND JET shipped in from Belmont Park and drew off
to earn his diploma by just over six lengths. Trained by leading conditioner
Chris Englehart, Wind Jet has only started seven times including today's score.
Wind Jet ran twice as a juvenile at Aqueduct, where he showed good early speed
but got tired and finished eighth and tenth. The three year old son of A. P.
Jet then came back on January 13 going six furlongs against state-bred maiden
allowance rivals and again showed speed to the lane and tired. Wind Jet did
not start again until October 1 against the same going six panels where again
he flashed speed and faded. Today's contest was for three year olds and upward
bred in the state of New York going five and one-half furlongs. Seven maidens
went to the post with Wind Jet the luke warm $2.15 to 1 favorite. Sent off as
the second choice at $2.30 to 1, was William H. Bartlett's owned and trained
Keen Eye Will. Keen Eye Will just missed in his last by neck to Rail Baron.
That race was against similar but going six furlongs. Keen Eye Will was making
his fifth career start with a solid record of one second, two thirds and $7,740
in money won. Wind Jet with top jock John Davila astride, broke quickly and
rushed out to contest the lead between Givemesomegoodnews and Catch a Fly while
getting the first quarter in 22.52. Keen Eye Will with regular rider Pauline
Forkhamer in the saddle, were not in any hurry while running fifth along the
four path. Catch a Fly began to drop back on the turn with Wind Jet and Givemesomegoodnews
dueling for the top spot. The half mile was clocked in 46.23 with Keen Eye Will
beginning to make his move. Wind Jet disposed of Givemesomegoodnews into the
lane and reached the eighth pole with a commanding two and one-half length advantage.
Keen Eye Will was asked by Forkhamer and he responded but had six lengths to
cover with only a furlong left. Wind Jet was roused by Davila and then drew
off in a hand ride to score by a convincing six and one-quarter lengths. Keen
Eye Will hung some in the late stages by managed to best Givemesomegoodnews
by three-quarters of a length for the place. Wind Jet covered the distance over
a muddy surface and earned $10,320. Bred by Hidden Point Farm, the three year
old son of A. P. Jet
out of Windcat by Iroquois Park also qualified for $2,064 in breeders' awards.

winner again rallied to score by a length and one-half while going away at the
end. Today's test was for three year olds and upward which had never won three
state-bred races other than going one mile and seventy yards. Six rivals went
to the post with Jay Em Ess Stable's Yankee Magic the 4 to 5 odds on choice.
Yankee Magic shipped in from Saratoga and made his first start over this oval
on September 12 against the sameİhe faces today going one mile and one-sixteenth.
In that event, the three year old son of Distinctive Pro was well placed while
third throughout but lacked the late needed response and finished a respectable
third to Chute the Breeze. Prior to coming here, Yankee Magic rattled of three
straight. Two winsİover the Belmont Park strip andİhis most recent wasİat Saratoga.
All three wins were against state-bred rivals. Trained by Richard Dutrow, Yankee

Kim Possible wires 6 in $20,400 feature
Magic Meadows Stable's KIM POSSIBLE took the lead from the outset and
was never threatened to get the job done by a length and one-half in today's
$20,400 featured eighth race. Trained by Michael S. Ferraro and ridden by Chin
Yang, this was Kim Possible's second win out of her last three starts. In Kim
Possible's most recent on October 10, the Ferraro trained runner lead every
step of the way but the final one to miss by a neck to Line Memory. That event
was against NW2X going one mile and seventy yards over a muddy surface. On the
year including today's wire-to-wire tally, Kim Possible has three wins, one
second, and two thirds out of only 10 tries. Today's contest was restricted
to fillies and mares which had never won two state-bred races other than going
one mile and seventy yards. Six rivals went to the post with Kim Possible the
even money choice. Also taking action at $3.00 to 1 was Sandandsable Farm's
Toasttofriendship. Trained by James T. Wright, Toasttofriendship was coming
out the same race as Kim Possible where she finished a solid third while missing
all out of it by just less than two lengths. Kim Possible is the true of this
event and with Chin Yang in the saddle, they broke right on top and got the
first quarter in 23.72 and a commanding six and one-half length lead over Toasttofriendship
and Juscauz. Kim Possible continued on setting the fractions while getting the
half mile in 46.64. Toasttofriendship and Juscauz were still in the stalking
mode five and one-half lengths back. The three-quarters went in 1:13.04 with
Co Co Heart the only rival making-up any ground. Co Co Heart was thirteen lengths
back in fifth and only had a quarter of a mile remaining. Kim Possible reached
the furlong marker with a four length lead. Co Co Heart appeared to be in gear
but had almost nine lengths to cover with a furlong to go. Kim Possible was
under a hand ride by Yang and they coasted home to a one and one-half length
score. Co Co Heart closed well for the place while Juscauz bested Toasttofriendship
by a nose. Kim Possible covered the distance over a muddy track in 1:44.81 and
earned $12,240. Bred by Saul and Max Kupferberg, the four year old daughter
of Williamstown out of Double Edge by Double Negative now has five career wins
out of 20 starts and $73,605 in the bank. Also, Kim Possible qualified for $2,448

State-Bred filly wins wide-open $50, 000 Finger Lakes Juvenile
Langpap Stable's FLY TO ME came off the pace to beat the boys andİcapture
The $50,000 Finger Lakes Juvenile Stakes by a three-quarters of length. Trained
by M. Anthony Ferraro and ridden by Joe Badamo, Fly to Me was coming off a solid
runner-up finish to Artistic Empress at Belmont Park in the $100,000 Joseph
A. Gimma Stakes. In thatİrace, the Ferraro trainee contested the lead to the
late stages and then held on for place while missing her win picture by a length
and one-half. Prior to that game try, the juvenile daughter of Belong to Me
finished second in the $248,000 New York Breeders' Futurity here on September
5 to Classic Park. Classic Park was much the best that day and scored by just
over nine lengths. Fly to Me earned her diploma with a ten and one-quarter length
romp on August 7 going five furlongs. Eight rivals went to the post with Fly
to Me the $1.70 to 1 favorite. Also taking actionİat $2.00 to 1 was Debra Divitto's
trained Secret Brook. Secret Brook is also aİfilly and was shipping from Woodbine
where she ran in $62,000 NW1X going six furlongs on September 18. In that test,
Secret Brook contested the lead to upper stretch and then faded to run fifth
beaten about six lengths. Secret Brook broke her maiden at Saratoga in aİ$60,000
claiming race by 12 lengths. She was haltered out ofİthat race by her new connections.
Secret Brook quickly andİtook command while racing well out in the strip and
getting the opening quarter in 22.66. Fly to Me was parked out six wide while
between Tommator and Gold End and only a length and one-half back. Secret Brook
was collared midway on the turn by Imperial Zip. Imperial Zipİwas nearest the
rail along the three path and stopped the timer for the half mile 46.70. Fly
to Me was in a striking position about two lengths back in third. Imperial Zip
took a length lead over Secret Broke with a furlong remaining. Fly to Me was
poised on the outside and ready to pounce at the any time. In the meantime,
Blue Streak Stable's Judge Tommy D. was angled abruptly to the rail and appeared
to be in gear. Fly to Me collared Imperial Zip in the late stages and then outran
the late charge from Judge Tommy D. to get the money by three-quarters of a
length. Imperial Zip finished third a nose behind Judge Tommy D. Fly to Me covered
the six furlong test over a sloppy track in 1:12.67 and earned a cool $30,000.
Bred by Deborah and Dennis Petrisak, the two year old daughter of Belong to
Me out of Flying Nightengale by Clever Trick now has two career wins out of
six starts and $113,430 in purse money. Also, Fly to Me qualified for $3,000
in breeders awards.

Seattle Schifty romps in $20,400 feature
SEATTLE SCHIFTY broke on top and never looked back to score by just over
eleven lengths in today's $20,400 featured eighth race. Listed as the 3 to 1
morning line choice by oddsmaker Carl Anderson was Schiffhauer Stable's Seattle
Schifty and rightly so. The Michael A. Lecesse trainee has won three out of
his last four starts by a total of just over 24 lengths. His only defeat was
in the one mile and one-sixteenth $50,000 Genesee Valley Breeders' Handicap
to Sindbad the Sailor. Seattle Schifty ran a respectable fourth while only beaten
a length and one-quarter for all of it. Those three impressive scores were in
wire-to-wire fashion. The only problem Seattle Schifty might have is breaking
from the eight post in a field of eight. Also there is plenty of speed to the
inside of Seattle Schifty. Today's contest was for three year olds and upward
which had never won two state-bred races other than going one mile and seventy
yards. Eight rivals went to the starting gate with Seattle Schifty the 2 to
5 odds on choice. Oddsmaker Carl Anderson was just a little off with his prediction!
Seattle Schifty with Joe Badamo astride, quickly took command and opened up
two and one-half lengths on 25 to 1 long shot Just a Whim while getting the
first quarter in 22.84. The half mile went in 46.39 with Just a Whim stalking
three lengths back. Timothy P. Murphy and David E. Brown's Kiss an Optimist
sent off as the third choice at 7 to 1, broke in the air and was about nine
lengths back in fifth. Seattle Schifty widened on the final turn and reached
the quarter pole in a sharp 1:11.32 and an eight length lead. Kiss an Optimist
was the only one making a run and it looked like he might get the place money.
Seattle Schifty opened up a commanding fourteen length lead and jockey Badamo
had him under wraps through the final eighth. Kiss an Optimist collared Just
a Whim in midstretch while Seattle Schifty coasted home to an eleven and one-quarter
length romp. Kiss an Optimist finished second, three and one-half lengths over
Just a Whim in third. Seattle Schifty covered the distance over fast track in
1:41.96 and earned $12,240. Bred by Dr. Russell S. Cohen, the three year old
son of Old Trieste out of Double Dee's by Double Negative now has six career
wins out of only fifteen tries and $76,711 in money won. Also, Seattle Schifty
qualified for $1,224 in breeders' awards.

S J Bee Stable's SAGE'S FIFTY SIX rallied to best Raf's Society Girl
by a half length to capture today's $19,900 featured eighth race. Trained by
M. Anthony Ferraro and ridden by John A. Grabowski, this was Sage's Fifty Six's
third win on the year. The Ferraro trained runner has had only three trips over
this oval this year including today's score. In her most recent against NW1X
going one mile and seventy yards, the four year old daughter of Victory Gallop
rallied to get second money but was beaten by just over seven lengths to Kim's
Possible. Prior to that effort, Sage's Fifty Six was up against in the one mile
and one-sixteenth $50,000 Jack Betta Be Rite on September 10 were she finished
last to Ruby's Rocket. Sage's Fifty Six spent the better part of the year at
Charles Town where she compiled a record of two wins, one second and three thirds.

race other than going one mile and seventy yards. Seven rivals including a Charlton
Baker trained entry of Richard Frankel's Sissay and Francis J. Paolangeli's
Raf's Society Girl with Sage's Fifty Six the $1.10 to 1 choice. Also taking
plenty of action at $1.40 to 1 was the Charlton Baker entry. On paper Raf's
Society Girl was strongest of the pair and had leading rider John A. Davila
aboard. Raf's Society Girl has one win and two seconds out of seven starts for
the year. Sissay has not visited the winner's circle since last year. Raf's
Society Girl quickly assumed command and went out to get the first quarter in
23.90 with a length and one-half lead over Regal Miracle. Sage's Fifty Six took
the overland route while six wide on the first turn and not in any hurry. Raf's
Society Girl stopped the timer for the half mile in 48.12 with four rivals within
two lengths of the lead. The three-quarters went in 1:13.16 with Sage's Fifty
Six parked out five wide on the turn and beginning make-up ground. Raf's Society
Girl reached the eighth pole with a length and one-half advantage over the late
running Sage's Fifty Six and appeared to be home free. Grabowski got into Sage's

in the crucial stages and finished a respectable third beaten only two lengths.

Rail Baron earns diploma $17,200 "MSW"
Up Park Stable's RAIL BARON battled from the eighth pole home and under
steady pressure from Chin Yang earned his diploma with a hard fought neck decision.
Trained by Michael S. Ferarro, Rail Baron has only started three times including
his tally today. The three year old gelded son of Western Expression made his
debut at Saratoga on September 3 against state-bred maidens going five and one-half
furlongs. Sent off at 20 to 1 with J M Luzzi in the saddle, Rail Baron could
never get on track while racing five wide and finished fifth in a field of seven.
Rail Baron was then shipped to Finger Lakes and made her local debut on September
26 against state-breds going six furlongs over a sloppy track. Ridden by Yang,
Rail Baron had blinkers for the first time but could only show some early speed
and wound up finishing sixth beaten 11 lengths in a field of 10. Today, Ferraro
added lasix for the first time and it paid off. Rail Baron part of a trained
entry with Barry K. Swartz' New Guinea was sent off as the choice at $1.60 to
1. Also taking action at $3.05 to 1, was Bruno Schickedanz' Good Versus Bad.
Trained by Daniel J. Poliziani, Good Versus Bad was sent to Belmont Park and
ran in a state-bred maiden allowance test on October 1 going six furlongs where
he finished ninth in a field of ten. Prior to that effort, Good Versus Bad rallied
to run third in his debut here on September 12. Eight rivals went to the post
and all were shooting for the $17,200 up for grabs. Brocco Valley with Clive
Beech in the irons was sent to contest the lead from between foes while getting
the opening quarter in 22.77. Rail Baron was not far behind and making a five
wide move on the turn. Rail Baron and Keen Eye Will reached the quarter pole
in 46.40 with Brocco Valley dropping back some. Rail Baron and Keen Eye Will
matched strides and reached the eighth pole together with Brocco Valley two
and one-half lengths back in third. With an eighth of a mile to go, Rail Baron
and Keen Eye Will battled to the line and only a neck separated the pair. Brocco
Valley lasted for the show. Rail Baron covered the distance over a good track
in 1:12.70 and earned $10,320. Bred by Karen Sue Nagelson, the three year old
gelded son of Western
Expression out of Flying Cross by Cormorant now has one win and $11,842
in money won. Also, Rail Baron qualified for $2,064 in breeders' awards.

Brass Arrow proves best in $19,900 feature
Richard Nicolai's BRASS ARROW made every pole a winning one to capture
today's $19,900 featured seventh race by just over two lengths. Trained by Jeremiah
Englehart and ridden by leading rider John R. Davila, this was Brass Arrow's
first win over this oval. Brass Arrow had two trips over this track where the
gelded son of Dixie Brass was up against it in the $50,000 Genesee Valley Breeders'
Handicap of September 10. The Englehart trainee finished sixth beaten just over
nine lengths to Sindbad the Sailor. Brass Arrow came back in a NW1X on September
27 going one mile and seventy yards where he tracked Seattle Schifty to midstretch
and then faded to run fourth beaten by just under eleven lengths. Seattle Schifty
got the money that day by nine lengths. Before coming here, Brass Arrow had
been racing on the New Jersey circuit where he was haltered by his new connections
for $12,500 on August 6. In that one mile test, Brass Arrow finished a game
second to Brightest Ice missing by a neck. Today's test was for three year olds
and upward which had never won a state-bred race other than going one mile and
seventy yards. Nine rivals including a Michael A. Lecesse trained entry of Dare
to Be Great and Colorfull Banner were sent off as the $1.50 favorite. Brass
Arrow was the second choice at $2.40 to 1. Colorfull Banner was trying to make
it two straight while Dare to Be Great was shipping from Delaware Park where
the five year old gelded son was claimed for $10,000. Dare to Be Great visited
the winner's circle with a rallying one and one-half length decision on June
15 for claming price of $12,500. Brass Arrow quickly took charge and went out
to get the opening quarter in 23.94 with Colorfull Banner stalking a length
back. Brass Arrow stopped the timer for the half mile in 47.75 with Colorfull
Banner still on the chase. Dare to Be Great was far back running in eighth.
Jockey Davila let out a notch on Brass Arrow and held a three length cushion
at the quarter pole while getting six furlongs in 1:12.60. In the meantime,
Regina's Mom was gaining ground along the fence and was only two and one-half
lengths back in second with a furlong remaining. But, in a hand ride, Brass
Arrow went on to score by two and one-quarter lengths over Regina's Mom. Colorfull
Banner lasted for the show. Brass Arrow's victory was clocked over a muddy track
in 1:43 flat and earned $11,940. Bred by Sabine Stable's, the five year old
gelded son of Dixie Brass out of Wild Like You by Wild Again now has four career
wins out of 33 tries and $116,010 in purse money. Also, Brass Arrow qualified
for $2,388 in breeders' awards.

Kiss an Optimist prevails in $19,600 feature
Timothy P. Murphy and David E. Brown's KISS AN OPTIMIST gained the lead
leaving the eighth pole and under pressure from jockey Jose Martinez edged clear
to score by a length and one-half in today's $19,600 featured eighth race. Trained
by part owner Timothy P. Murphy, Kiss an Optimist was coming off a solid third
place finish in his last going six furlongs against never won four allowance
types on September 19. In that race, regular rider Matinez took the overland
route on the turn and closed well to miss by a length to JC and Me. The Murphy
trainee's last tally was back on June 4 against never three allowance rivals
at one mile and seventy yards. Today's test was for three year olds and upward
which had never won a state-bred race other than going six furlongs. After three
scratches, a field of five well matched foes went to the post with Paul E. Labe's
Red Hot Cat the $1.85 to 1 favorite. Trained by James T. Wright, Red Hot Cat
just missed by a head in his last on September 19 against NW1X going one mile
and seventy yards. So far this year, Red Hot Cat has started eleven times with
a record of two wins, five seconds, one third and $25,985 in purse money. Kiss
an Optimist was let go as the second choice at $2.60 to 1. Edward C. Perdue's
owned and trained Kid Smokey showed speed for his first time and with Jose Gutierrez
in the saddle went out to contest the lead with Kiss an Optimist to the outside
and Run Mikey Run in the middle. Kid Smokey stopped the timer for the opening
quarter in 22.63. The trio continued on fighting for the advantage while getting
the half mile in 46.03. Run Mikey Run gave it up entering the lane while Kid
Smokey and Kiss an Optimist were still engaged in a heated battle. Martinez
got Kiss an Optimist to respond to pressure and they edged clear late to score
by a length and one-half. Kid Smokey finished second best over Tactical Prince
in third. Kiss an Optimist covered the distance over a good track in 1:11.58
and earned $11,760. Bred by John and Theresa Behrendt, the four year old gelded
son of Incurable Optimist out of Keepitsimplestupid by Jolie's Halo now has
four career wins out of 29 starts and $116,910 in the bank. Also, Kiss an Optimist
qualified for $1,176 in breeders' awards.

Singasongforme wires 5 in $20,900 Finger Lakes Feature
Charlton Baker's owned and trained SINGASONGFORME took charge from the
outset and never looked back to score by just over a length in today's $20,900
featured eighth race. Ridden to victory by Daniel Centeno, this was Singasongforme's
first win on the year out of four starts. The lightly raced gelded son of Ormsby,
has only started 28 times in his career with nine of them over this oval. Prior
to racing here, the Charlton Baker trainee mainly campaigned on the New York
City circuit where she scored three times and earned over $100,000. Singasongforme
made his first start this year back on May 3 against NW3X going five furlongs,
where he never fired and wound a disappointing seventh in a field of eight.
Singasongforme didn't start again until September 12 going long and against
the same. This time, the four time winner showed the way to upper stretch and
then weakened late to run fourth beaten just under five lengths to Chute the
Breeze. In his most recent on September 25, Singasongforme was done entering
the lane and wound up finishing sixth. Today's test was for three year olds
and upward which had never won three state-bred races other than going one mile
and seventy yards. A small field of five went to the post with Singasongforme
the longest price on the board at $4.30 to 1. On paper, Singasongforme is the
true speed of this race and with five wire-to-wire winners out of the first
seven races, it appears Singasongforme would be the one to beat. Very Un Stable's
Tomorrows Gold was sent off the luke warm favorite at $2.55 to 1. Trained by
leading conditioner Chris Englehart, Tomorrows Gold has four starts on the year
with two wins and $25,377 in money won. Singasongforme was sent right to the
front by Daniel Centeno and got the opening quarter in 24.10. Tomorrows Gold
was tracking along the four path and only a length and one-half back. Monmouth
invader Netcong was in third while racing along the five path and four lengths
behind. Singasongforme was nursed along on the front-end and stopped the timer
for a half mile in 48.09 with Tomorrows Gold still in the stalking mode. Singasongforme
continued on setting the fractions while getting the three-quarters in 1:12.65.
I'mmeanonthegreen was starting to make a run along the fence while Tomorrow's
Gold was not making up any ground. Asked by Centeno, Singasongforme responded
and went on to score by a length and one-quarter over the late running I'mmeanonthegreen.
Tomorrows Gold hung around for a the show. Singasongforme covered the distance
over a good track in 1:43.38 and earned $12,540. Bred by Betty Powel, the five
year old gelded son of Ormsby
out of Classical Ballad by Run Dusty Run now has five career wins and $133,175
in purse money. Also, Singasongforme qualified for $2,508 in breeders' awards.
(10/8) Abagintwo wires 8 in $20,100 feature
Carl Baker and Laura Oliver's ABAGINTWO took the lead from outset and
wired a field of eight to take today's $20,100 featured eighth race by just
over three lengths at a nice 6 to 1. Trained by Carl Baker and ridden to victory
by apprentice jockey Jennifer Schmidt, this was Abagintwo's fourth score on
the year out of eleven tries. The six year old son of Abaginone has not visited
the winner's circle since downing a field of nine NW1X going six furlongs on
July 23. Carl J. Riedel's Howyalikedemapples is listed as the morning favorite
at 3 to 1 and clearly looks like the one to beat in today's featured eighth
race. Trained by M. Anthony Ferraro, the four year gelded son of Rodeo has started
nine times this year with a record of four wins, three seconds and two thirds
and earnings of $52,530. Howyalikedemapples likes to come from off the pace.
Rodeoactive and Abagintwo are the true speed of this five and one-half furlong
dash and that should set up well for the late running of Howyalikedemapples.
Today's contest is for three year olds and upward which had never won two state-bred
races other than going five and one-half furlongs over a muddy track. Eight
rivals went to the post with Howyalikedemapples the $1.85 to 1 choice. Also
taking action at $3.70 to 1 was Joseph A. Lostritto's Soup Spoon. Trained by
Oscar S. Barrera, Soup Spoon shipped in from Belmont Park and has had only one
start over this oval and that was back on July 24 against NW2X going one mile
and seventy yards. The Barrera trained runner never fired and finished seventh
beaten ten lengths. Abagintwo with Jennifer Schmidt in the irons, broke alertly
and went out to set the pace with Rodeoactive to his outside. Abagintwo got
the first quarter in 22.37 and then opened up daylight on Rodeoactive while
reaching the quarter pole in 45.48. In the meantime, Howyalikedemapples was
far back running in seventh and had almost ten lengths to make-up with a quarter
of a mile remaining. Abagintwo was never asked by Schmidt and she went on in
hand ride to score by three and one-quarter lengths. Rodeoactive held off the
late running Howyalikedemapples by a length to secure the place. Abagintwo covered
the five and one-half furlong test over a muddy track in 1:04.33 and earned
$12,060. Bred by LeRoy Oliver, the six year old son of Abaginone out of The
Christmasbunny by Dancing Count now has ten career wins out of 29 starts and
$96,953 in purse money. Also, Abagintwo qualified for $2,412 in breeders' awards.

Musical Finale keeps win skein intact in $19,600 feature
Tommy Roberts Racing Stable's MUSICAL FINALE made every pole a winning
one to capture today's $19,600 featured eighth race by two and one-half lengths.
Today's tally was Musical Finale's third straight. Ocean Blue Stable's Semichi
the 5 to 2 morning line favorite and rightly so, just missed in her last by
a nose against NW1X going six furlongs. Prior to that solid try, the Charlton
Baker trained runner proved best by a pair against never won two allowance types
at six furlongs. Since shipping in here from Belmont Park, Semichi has started
four times, with a record of one win, two seconds and a game fourth place finish
missing the victory by only three-quarters of a length. Listed as the second
choice at 3 to 1, Musical Finale is in search of her third straight score. Trained
by leading conditioner Chris Englehart, Musical Finale started her win skein
here on September 12, where she wired of field of seven never won two allowance
types by nine lengths. In that convincing tally, jockey John Davila never let
up on his mount while never in jeopardy at any point of the six furlong test.
In the Englehart trainee's next race against never won three allowance foes
going six furlongs over a good track, Musical Finale quickly took command and
never looked back to win by a length and one-half at odds of 3 to 5. With today's
rainy skies and a sealed good racing surface, speed is dangerous. Musical Finale
arrived here from Belmont Park in early August to break her maiden for fun.
In that maiden score, Musical Finale vied for the lead to the lane and then
drew off to win by six lengths over a fast track. Today's test was for fillies
and mares which had never won a state-bred race other than going five and one-half
furlongs. Six rivals went to the starting gate with Musical Finale the public's
choice at even money. Musical Finale with John Davila astride, broke quickest
of all and established a two length lead while getting the opening quarter in
22.21. Sixteen to 1 long shot Pow Wow Louise was stalking with a length to could
over a well bunched field. Musical Finale continued on setting the pace while
racing along the three path and reached the quarter pole in 45.91 and two and
one-half length cushion over Windy Hill Stable's Pow Wow Louise. Meanwhile,
Semichi was in a striking position while between foes entering the lane and
only had about four lengths to cover. Davila kept Musical Finale on her toes
with one solid lash of the whip to her hip and then went on in a hand ride to
score by two and one-half lengths over Pow Wow Louise. Emptor closed well to
finish third. Semichi never fired in the lane and wound up finishing fourth
beaten four lengths. Musical Finale covered the distance over a good track in
1:05.74 and earned $11,760. Bred by Sez Who Thoroughbreds, the three year old
daughter of Precise End
out of Musical Diablo by Diablo now has four career wins and $47,001 in the
bank. Also, Musical Finale qualified for $2,352 in breeders' awards.

| TARNISHED STERLING #2 winning through DQ |
(10/4) Tarnished Sterling wins $19,600 feature via disqualification
Gumpster Stable's TARNISHED STERLING finished strongly to just miss by
a head to Kid Smokey, but the latter bothered Run Mikey Run at the sixteenth
pole and was disqualified and placed third. The disqualification made Tarnished
Sterling the victor. Trained by Ralph D'Alessandro and ridden by Daniel Centeno,
Tarnished Sterling just missed by three-quarters of a length finishing third
in his last going five and one-half furlongs. That solid effort was against
NW1X. Prior to that race, the D'Alessandro trained runner finished second to
the highly regarded You Willgo Broke. So far this year, including today's lucky
score, Tarnished Sterling has four wins, two seconds, three thirds out of twelve
tries and $36,230 in money won. Today's race was for three year olds and upward
which had never won a state-bred other than going five and one-half furlongs.
Eight rivals were set to go with Tarnished Sterling sent off the $2.10 to 1
choice. Also taking action as the second choice at $3.15 to 1, was Three Alert
Stable's Run Mikey Run. Trained by Michael A. Lecesse, Run Mikey Run was coming
out of a NW1X going six furlongs, where the gelded son of Doneraile finished
second to Rodeoactive as the even money choice. Hector M. Diaz' speedster El
Cisc and the complete reversal of form Kid Smokey went out to contest the lead
while getting the opening quarter in 22.88. Edward Perdue's Kid Smokey has always
come from off the pace, but today the geld son of Smoke Glacken was fighting
for the lead. The pacesetters continued on with a length and one-half cushion
over Run Mikey Run while getting the half mile in a very quick 45.92. Kid Smokey
put a length on Tarnished Sterling with a furlong to go. Run Mikey Run was trying
split horses nearing the sixteenth pole, but under left handed pressure from
Jose Gutierrez, Kid Smokey drifted into the path of Run Mikey Run. Run Mikey
Run was forced to take up sharply and then alter his course to the rail. In
the meantime, Kid Smokey responded and was able to turn back Tarnished Sterling
for a head decision. Run Mikey Run finished with interest along the fence but
was beaten for all of it by two lengths. The stewards flashed the Inquiry sign
and the second and third place finishers claimed fouls against Kid Smokey. The
stewards deemed that Kid Smokey interfered with Run Mikey Run and disqualified
Kid Smokey from first and placed him third. Kid Smokey covered the distance
over a fast track in 1:04.38 with Tarnished Sterling earning the winner's share
of $11,760. Bred by William N. Garbarini and Tri-Noble Stables, the four year
old gelded son of Cryptoclearance out of La Broker by Blues Alley now has five
career wins out of 20 starts and $44,059 in purse money. Tarnished Sterling
also qualified for $1,176 in breeders' awards.

Blonde Dynamite upsets in $20,100 "Lakes" feature
George L. Santangelo's BLONDE DYNAMITE collared pacesetter Pixie Dust
leaving the eighth pole and bested that one for a three-quarter length decision
to take today's $20,100 featured eighth race at 12 to 1. Trained by Jonathan
Buckley and ridden by Daniel Centeno, Blonde Dynamite was coming off a length
and one-half victory against conditioned $5,000 claimers on September 20. That
event was contested at five and one-half furlongs where Blonde Dynamite tracked
speedster Copewithhoneybrown throughout and got the job done with Gabriele Suarez
in the saddle. That was Blonde Dynamite's first race oval this oval this year.
The Jonathan Buckley trainee had been racing at Suffolk Downs against wide open
$5,000 claimers and mostly going long. Today's race was restricted to fillies
and mares which had never won two state-bred race other than going six furlongs
with Bruce D. Anderson's owned trained Watral Swee Dixie the luke warm favorite
at $2.30 to 1. Watral Swee Dixie had started eight times this year with a record
of eight wins and two seconds. The Anderson trainee was coming off a neck score
in her last against NW1X going five and one-half furlongs. Watral Swee Dixie
does most of her running from off the pace and with all the speed on paper,
it appears the race should set up perfect. James and Robert Cole's Pixie Dust
who was looking for her fourth straight score, broke quickly and went out and
got the opening quarter in 22.92 and a length advantage over stalker Blonde
Dynamite. Pixie Dust continued showing the way and stopped the timer for the
half mile in 46.28. Meanwhile, favorite Watral Swee Dixie was running sixth
and had almost seven length to cover with a quarter of mile to go. Blonde Dynamite
moved to challenge Pixie Dixie leaving the furlong marker while Ryan Cox' El's
Well was making a run from the middle of strip and was only three lengths back
in fifth. Blonde Dynamite responded to pressure and bested Pixie Dixie for a
three-quarter length tally. El's Well ran out of real-estate but finished strongly
to run third missing her win picture by only a length. Watral Swee Dixie never
fired and finished last. Blonde Dynamite got the distance over a fast track
in 1:11.37 and earned $12,060. Bred by Peter Tornabene, the six year old daughter
of Deputed Testamony out Six Caliber by Caltech now has seven career wins out
of 51 tries and $168,445. Also, Blonde Dynamite qualified for $1,206 in breeders'
awards.

Precisepursuit pulls off upset in Finger Lakes Juvenile Fillies Stakes
Away from the races for more than two-months, PRECISEPURUIT charged through
the stretch under jockey Jennifer Schmidt to capture the $50,000 Finger Lakes
Juvenile Fillies Stakes. Part of the Timothy Murphy trained entry, along with
Deputy's End, the two-year old filly was one of six New York-breds entered in
the 9-horse field, which raced over the main track at six-furlongs. Precisepursuit
started her career in Florida this spring racing three-times at Gulfstream Park
and Calder Racetrack before shipping north. Owned by the trainer and David Brown,
the two-year-old dark bay filly broke her maiden in her only previously run
race at the "Lakes" on July 22nd. Murphy worked the filly three-times
leading up to today's race and the filly was sharp in victory. Rated kindly
in the early going Precisepursuit went four wide around the last turn and gained
on the leader and odds-on betting favorite, Blushing Marian, with every stride
before driving clear to win by almost three-lengths. Final time was 1:11 4/5ths
seconds. The open company victory earns Murphy and Brown an owner's award of
$6,000 to go along with the $30,000 purse money they picked up for stakes victory.
Precisepursuit was bred by Richard Simon's Sez Who Thoroughbreds, who also qualified
for a $6,000 breeder's award. The talented filly is by the former New York-based
stallion Precise End, who shipped to Japan after the 2004 breeding season. Precise
End stood at Lakland North Farm in
Hudson, N.Y. and qualified his owners, Lewis Lakin and Becky Thomas for a $2,100
stallion owner's award.
