Dear Breeders and Owners,
The Fund wants to remind you that we’re here to help make it easier for you to nominate your weanlings to the NY Stallion Stakes Series at NYRA and the Futurity Series at Finger Lakes Casino and Racetrack. The reason is simple: we want to help fill the starting gates.
When you go to our site (www.NYBreds.com) to register your weanling as a NY-bred, you can pay the initial $25 to begin the nomination process for the Finger Lakes Futurity Series, which consists of the Lady Finger Stakes for two-year-old fillies, the Aspirant Stakes for two-year-old colts, and the New York Breeders’ Futurity for two-year-olds of either sex. The Futurity stakes are restricted to registered NY-breds, of course. Finger Lakes is doing an especially fine job this year of spreading the word that sustaining payments are due for two-year-olds who may be ready to run this September.
Check your mail for an envelope from Finger Lakes Casino and Racetrack marked:

Stake Eligibility Payment Due
For more information, reach out to Michele Fish at [email protected]. The full payment schedule for the Futurity Series can be found on our site here.
We also encourage you to make your weanling eligible for the New York Stallion Stakes Series when registering the foal with us. It costs just $200 to fully nominate your weanling to the series! Just make the payment to us by credit card or check, and we will send it along with information on your foal to Carmine Shirlaw, who handles the series for NYRA. One note of caution: please make sure the sire of your foal was registered with the NY Thoroughbred Breeding and Development Fund in the year your foal was conceived. If your mare was covered in another state last year, your foal is not eligible for the Stallion Series. Don’t worry, though: if the stallion was not eligible to the Series or you double pay, you will get your money back!
Take a look at the schedule below for the NY Stallion Stakes Series races being run by NYRA this year, and make sure your foal of 2013 will have a shot at those great purses in the future.
