Dear Stakeholders,
On May 3, 2016 the staff of the New York Thoroughbred Breeding and Development Fund mailed out nearly $1.6 million in award checks earned during March and April (Period II) at New York tracks. As shown in the chart below, the Fund holds back ten percent of the awards to ensure that all award earners are paid equally throughout the year, and in anticipation of being able to pay the remaining ten percent in January 2017.

I would like to take this opportunity to remind you that Big Apple Showcase Day, including six stakes races for NY-breds, will be held at Belmont Park on Monday, May 30th. The entire card is made up of races for NY-breds, and NYRA makes an effort to provide “Family Fun Activities” for those who attend the races with their children.
