Thomas Reynolds, Former Fund Field Inspector, Passes Away at Age 62

Thomas John Reynolds

June 21,1961 – April 15, 2024

Son of the predeceased Michael and Margaret Reynolds, Thomas John Reynolds is survived by his two elder siblings, Michael Reynolds and Marion Uryevick, as well as his nieces and nephew, Siobhan, Christopher and Alicia Uryevick. Tom loved his family as well as his career alongside horses, both with NYRA and as a Thoroughbred field inspector for the NY Thoroughbred Breeding & Development Fund. He spent much of his time at both Belmont and Saratoga racetracks, and dedicated every holiday to his family and friends. He was funny, loving, devoted and wise beyond his years. He loved music and animals, and was always up for a laugh. He will be missed, never forgotten, and always loved by all who knew him.

All of us at the NY Thoroughbred Breeding and Development Fund would like to express our sincere condolences to Tom’s family and many friends. We admired Tom for his deep knowledge about horse racing and his always pleasant demeanor when dealing with the New York breeders he met at farms across the state. We hope he’s up there chatting with Woody Stephens and laying a gentle and loving hand on his beloved Gone West. Rest in peace, dear Tom.
